Privacy Policy

We collect the minimum needed to run the scanner and your account, and we never sell your data. This policy explains what we hold, why, and the control you have over it.

Effective 20 June 2026

Who we are

Accessibility Scanner ("we", "us") operates the website at accessibilityscanner.app and the related scanning tools, browser extension, and API. For any privacy question, contact [email protected].

What we collect

  • Account data. Your email address and a hashed password when you register. We never store your password in readable form.
  • Scan data. The URLs you submit, the pages we fetch from them, and the accessibility results we generate. Reports are addressable by an unguessable link.
  • Billing data. Subscriptions are handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and your plan. We do not see or store your full card number.
  • Usage data. Standard server logs (IP address, request time, user agent) and privacy-respecting analytics, used to operate the service and prevent abuse.
  • Optional contact. If you opt in on a report, we store the email you provide so we can send you that report or related updates.

How we use it

We use your data to run scans, deliver and store your reports, manage your subscription, send service messages you have asked for, secure the service against abuse, and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising.

Service providers

We rely on a small set of processors who handle data on our behalf under their own privacy terms:

  • Stripe for payment processing and subscription billing.
  • Our hosting and email providers for serving the application and sending transactional email.
  • Analytics for aggregate usage measurement.

Retention

We keep account and scan data while your account is active. You can delete saved scans at any time, and you can ask us to close your account and erase your personal data by emailing us. We retain limited records where the law requires it, such as billing history.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, email [email protected] and we will respond within the timeframe the law requires.

Security

We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, scoped access, and isolation of the scanning engine. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to limit what we collect in the first place.

Cookies

We use cookies that are necessary to keep you signed in and to protect forms. Analytics, where used, relies on aggregate measurement rather than cross-site advertising profiles.

Children

The service is intended for businesses and developers and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy as the service evolves. When we make a material change we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
