Terms of Service
Plain terms for using the scanner. The short version: scan sites you are allowed to scan, pay for the plan you choose, and understand that automated results are a strong signal, not a legal guarantee.
Effective 20 June 2026
1. Agreement
By using accessibilityscanner.app and its tools you agree to these Terms. If you use the service for an organization, you confirm you are authorized to accept these Terms on its behalf.
2. What the service does
We run automated accessibility tests (powered by axe-core) against web pages you submit and report the issues we find, with the offending elements identified. Automated testing reliably detects the machine-checkable subset of WCAG. It cannot judge the criteria that require human review, and we tell you which those are.
3. No compliance guarantee
Our reports are an engineering tool, not legal advice. A clean automated scan does not certify conformance with WCAG, the ADA, the EAA, Section 508, or any other standard or law, and does not guarantee protection from claims. You are responsible for full conformance, including the manual review automated tools cannot perform. We deliberately never issue a "compliant" badge.
4. Acceptable use
You may only scan websites you own or are authorized to test. You agree not to use the service to attack, overload, or gain unauthorized access to any system, to circumvent our rate limits, or to scan third-party sites without permission. We apply rate limits and abuse controls and may suspend access that threatens the service or others.
5. Accounts
You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized use.
6. Plans, billing, and cancellation
Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring basis through Stripe at the price shown when you subscribe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You can cancel at any time from your billing area; cancellation stops future charges and your plan stays active until the end of the current period. Except where the law requires otherwise, payments already made are non-refundable. We will give notice of price changes before they take effect.
7. Intellectual property
The service, its software, and its content belong to us or our licensors. axe-core is used under its open-source license. The reports we generate about your sites are yours to use. You grant us the limited permission needed to fetch and analyze the pages you submit so we can produce those reports.
8. Disclaimers
The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that scans will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that they will find every issue on a page.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the three months before the claim arose.
10. Termination
You can stop using the service and close your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if these Terms are breached or if needed to protect the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the operator is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be handled by the courts located there.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms as the service changes. When we make a material change we will update the effective date above. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
